Dominican Republic 2018

Dominican Republic 2018

The CVU Dominican Republic trip is 10-12 day trip that combines Spanish immersion with community service that happens every other year. Students live in a rural village in the San Jose de Ocoa province of the DR, and build a house with members of the same community through the Dominican .  While in the village, they work, share, present on their own culture and, occasionally, give English classes. They get to experience first-hand rural Dominican culture, learn Bachata and Merengue, and test their Spanish outside of the classroom. The total trip cost is $1900 and this includes everything, including international travel and medical insurance. There will be no fundraising, and there are several full/partial scholarships available. Students need to be enrolled in Spanish 4 or 5 at the time in order to participate.
